What We Do With Brick
There is more than one way to update brick, and they are not the same job. Here is what we offer and where each one fits.
Painted brick
Full, opaque color in any shade you want. A coat of paint covers the color variation of brick completely and gives the cleanest, most uniform look. We use breathable masonry paint and back-roll every coat into the texture so it bonds and the brick can still release moisture.
Limewash
Limewash is a mineral coating that soaks into the brick instead of sitting on top of it. It is softer and more weathered than paint, semi-transparent so some of the brick character shows through, and the most breathable option there is. It will not chip or peel - it ages and softens, and gets refreshed rather than stripped.
Mortar repair and prep
Before any color goes on, we check the walls for cracks, spalling, and loose or missing mortar, and we repair it. Painting over failing mortar just locks in a problem. This step is most of the work, and most of the reason a brick job lasts.
Trim, eaves, and accents
Brick rarely stands alone. We handle the fascia, soffits, window trim, and the front door at the same time, so the whole exterior reads as one finished look instead of new brick against tired trim.

Brick is porous. It takes in moisture and lets it back out, and the wrong coating seals that in. Our process keeps the brick breathing.

We clean it down
Brick has to be free of dirt, chalk, and mildew before anything bonds to it. We pressure-wash the surface and let it dry fully. Paint over damp or dirty brick and it fails fast.

We repair the mortar
Cracks, spalling, and loose mortar get fixed and given time to cure. This is where moisture gets in if you skip it, so we do not.

We prime for masonry
Bare and repaired brick gets a masonry primer made for the high-pH, porous surface. The right primer is what lets a breathable topcoat actually stick for years.

We coat and back-roll
For paint, breathable masonry coatings worked into the texture by back-rolling, not just sprayed and left. For limewash, thin coats brushed in and built to the coverage you want. Either way, the goal is a finish that bonds and breathes.
