Painting a Crestwood Home

Crestwood sits on the Trinity River on the west side of Fort Worth, just northwest of the Cultural District and a few minutes from downtown and West 7th. It grew up in the 1930s and 40s, taking off when the air base brought families to this side of town, and it still feels like a tucked-away enclave - winding, tree-lined streets, generous lots, and the famous stretch of Crestwood Drive with the trees growing right in the middle of the road. What defines it is variety. You will not mistake one house for another here, and that is what shapes the painting.

The older part of Crestwood is cottages, Craftsman and Tudor homes, and mid-century houses, a lot of them being updated by owners who love the location and the trees. That is steady work: bringing a dated interior current, repainting a tired exterior, and refreshing a kitchen without gutting it. Because these homes predate 1978, we prep them with lead-safe practices, contained rather than sanded loose on these close, walkable streets.

At the same time, Crestwood is one of the most active teardown-and-rebuild neighborhoods on the west side. New custom homes go up on riverfront lots, and older homes get completely reimagined with second-story additions, and those are a different job: finishing a new build cleanly, painting big open interiors and high ceilings, and spraying cabinetry and built-ins to a smooth, hard finish. We do both, on the same streets, often a few doors apart.

The river matters for the exterior work. Homes here sit close to the West Fork, and between the humidity off the water and the heavy shade from the old oaks, an exterior weathers faster than it would out in the open, so the prep and the product have to account for it. We are a Fort Worth company based a short drive south in southwest Fort Worth, and the west side near the river and the Cultural District is familiar ground for us.

What We Paint in Crestwood

From an updated cottage to a brand-new custom build, we handle the whole home. Here is what that covers.

Interior painting

Walls, trim, and ceilings, from bringing a cottage or mid-century interior current to finishing the big open rooms in a newer custom home. Low-odor products and clean work that keeps the home livable, whether it is a few rooms or a whole-home refresh.

Cabinets and brick

Kitchen cabinets and built-ins sprayed to a smooth, hard finish, the fastest way to update a kitchen without a remodel, plus lightening or whitening dated brick with breathable finishes or limewash to modernize an older home's exterior.

Exterior painting

The full exterior, washed, prepped, and repainted to hold up against the river humidity and the heavy tree shade these streets get. Body, trim, fascia, and doors, with lead-safe prep on the older pre-1978 homes, done so it lasts near the water.

Updates and new builds

The two kinds of work this neighborhood runs on - repainting and refreshing older cottages, Craftsman, and mid-century homes, and finishing newer custom builds and reimagined homes cleanly. Careful prep, clean lines, and a finish that matches the home, whichever it is.

How We Work

Whether it is a cottage update or a new custom home, we keep the job organized, clean, and easy to live around from the first walkthrough to the last.

01

Walkthrough and color

We walk the home with you, look at the materials and condition, and help with color, whether you are updating an older home or choosing finishes for a new build. You get a clear written estimate with no guesswork.

02

Prep and protect

Prep is where the finish is won, and it matters more near the river. We wash, scrape, sand, caulk, and prime what needs it, prep older homes with lead-safe practices, repair drywall and stucco, and cover your floors, furniture, and landscaping before any paint goes on.

03

Paint with one crew

The same crew runs your job start to finish, low-odor inside and careful outside, so the home stays livable while we work. We keep the site clean and clean up at the end of every day.

04

Final walkthrough

We walk it with you at the end, touch up anything that needs it, and do not call it done until you are happy with how it looks up close.

We Know the Westside

We are a Fort Worth company, based off Cordova Avenue a short drive from Crestwood, and the west side near the river and the Cultural District is familiar ground for us. We know these homes - the older cottages and mid-century houses being updated and the new custom builds going up beside them - and how the river humidity and the heavy oak shade on these streets treat a finish.

You get careful work, clean job sites, color expertise, and an honest read on what your home needs. We keep the same crew on your job from the first walkthrough to the last, and because we are close, we are easy to reach the whole way through.

Crestwood House Painting Questions

What kinds of painting do you do for Crestwood homes?

Interior and exterior painting, cabinet refinishing, brick and limewash, stucco work, and drywall repair - across both the older cottages, Craftsman, and mid-century homes and the newer custom builds. We treat the whole home as one finished look and match the work to what each house is.

Which neighborhoods do you serve near Crestwood?

Crestwood and the surrounding west and central Fort Worth neighborhoods, including Monticello, Rivercrest, Arlington Heights, Linwood, and the River District. It is close to home for us, so the whole west and central Fort Worth area is covered.

Do you paint older homes and updates?

Yes, and it is a lot of the work here. Many of Crestwood's older cottages, Craftsman, and mid-century homes are being updated by owners who love the location and the trees, so we repaint dated interiors in today's colors, refresh trim and ceilings, and modernize kitchens without a full remodel.

Do you handle new custom builds and reimagined homes?

Yes. Crestwood is one of the more active teardown-and-rebuild neighborhoods on the west side, and we finish new custom homes and completely reimagined ones cleanly - painting big open interiors and high ceilings, and spraying cabinetry and built-ins to a smooth, hard finish.

Do you follow lead-safe practices for older homes?

Yes. Homes built before 1978, which includes the older cottages and mid-century houses here, can have lead paint under the old coats, so we prep with lead-safe practices - containing the work area, prepping carefully, and cleaning up properly. It protects your home and your family.

Do you paint riverfront homes near the Trinity?

Yes, and we prep them for it. Homes close to the West Fork take extra humidity off the water, and combined with the heavy oak shade, that weathers an exterior faster than it would out in the open. We prep those elevations accordingly and use products built to hold up near the river.
